Vital Information Program
The Seniors Advocacy Service has been approved by the New Horizons for Seniors Community Participation & Leadership Fund for the Vital Information Program.
This program was developed with the purpose to supply a “Vital Information Vial” into every postal registered home in Quesnel and surrounding area, up to 11,000 homes in the initial outlay.
The vial will contain important medical information of the occupants of the home, as well as pet information should you wish it.
This information will assist Emergency Teams when responding to calls to the home and can also aid neighbors, if they’re called for help.
The vial will be identified by a red sticker on the outside, hinge side of the fridge. The vial will be stored inside the fridge, hinge side, upper shelf. Directions for this will come with each vial. It will be the responsibility of the occupants to have their personal & medical information into the vial and the sticker displayed appropriately.
The VI program will bring our staff, staff from the Advocacy Resource Centre of the Cariboo and seniors together to contribute skill sets in organizing, facilitating and distributing this program to all residents of our community. The development and ongoing support of this program will enhance the “emergency preparedness” program of our City. It will also allow for relationship building and networking with our local fire departments and their members.
